Course Description:

This is a course in differential equations. Topics include linear ordinary differential equations, solutions in series, solutions using Laplace transforms, systems of differential equations.

Textbooks:	The required textbooks are Differential Equations & Boundary Value Problems, by Nagle, Saff, and Snider, 4th ed., 2004, custom edition for Texas A&M. Solving Differential Equations with Maple V, Barrow, Belmonte, et al., Release 4, 1998, ISBN 0-534-34555-7.
Course Syllabus:	The course covers most of chapters 1-5, 7, 9, and additional topics will be covered as time permits.
Exams:	There will be 2 in-class Exams and a Final Exam. See schedule below.
Homework:	Written and computer based homework will be due on a weekly basis.
Calculators:	Use of calculators on homework is perfectly acceptable. However, calculators will not be permitted on quizzes and exams.
Prerequisite:	Math 251 (third semester calculus) or equivalent.

Tentative Exam Schedule:

There will be 2 in-class exams during the semester, as well as a cumulative final exam. The dates and times are listed below.

Grading:

Your final grade will be determined by the total number of points obtained on exams, homework, and quizzes. Out of 400 total points, each component contributes to your grade as follows:

The following grade distribution will be used in determining final course grades:

A	90.0%-100.0%
B	80.0%-89.9%
C	70.0%-79.9%
D	60.0%-69.9%
F	0.0%-59.9%

Missed Work:	Making up missed work (including missed exams, quizzes, and homework) will be arranged according to University policies only.
