- Abscissa - The coordinate along
the horizontal axis.
- Coordinate - A
component of an ordered pair used to determine the position
of a point.
- Graph -
A visual representation of algebraic equations or data.
- Horizontal -
Parallel to the x-axis.
- Infinite -
Immeasurably great or large; boundless.
- Intersection -
The point where two lines cross.
- Linear -
A linear function has a graph which is a straight line.
- Ordered Pair -
Two coordinates, the first of which corresponds to the x-axis
and the second to the y-axis.
- Ordinate - The coordinate along
the vertical axis.
- Parallel -
Two lines which are everywhere the same distance apart,
never intersect, and have the same slope.
- Perpendicular -
Two lines which intersect at right angles and whose slopes are
negative reciprocals.
- Rise -
The change in vertical distance.
- Run -
The change in horizontal distance.
- Slope -
The ratio of "rise" over "run".
- Vertical -
Parallel to the y-axis.
- x-Intercept -
The point where a graph crosses the x-axis.
- y-Intercept -
The point where a graph crosses the -axis.
