Fall 2014 MATH 151 MATLAB Assignment 3

Description
  1. Students will work together in their assigned teams. In this manner they will:
    • finish assignments more quickly and cross-check each other's work;
    • give their TAs a more manageable amount to grade;
    • build their networking and cooperation skills.
  2. BEFORE starting the lab, read the appropriate pages of your Matlab manual (Gilat 5th Edition).
  3. Work these five problems from Gilat.
    • g5c3p086x02, g5c3p088x08, g5c3p090x19, g5c3p090x21, g5c3p093x33
    • Here is an Errata List for the 1st Printing of the 5th Edition of Gilat. (Some students have a paperback copy of this 1st printing. The eTextbook version is also derived from the 1st printing. The 2nd and 3rd printings have been corrected.)
  4. For each problem, you'll work out of the MATLAB Editor. You'll interactively save and run your MATLAB M-file and publish your work to a PDF file which you can print from the calclabs using xprint or transfer and print locally.
  5. You'll print out the .pdf files. Do any hand work on ruled notebook paper or engineering green graph paper.
  6. Regarding the figures themselves, use commands in your M-file to title and label your graph(s), change line styles; etc.
  7. This assignment is due the week of 29/Sep-03/Oct, at the START of your computer lab. Be sure to manage your time according to your schedule. Do NOT put things off! It is highly advisable that you use the 50 minutes in lab to complete as much of the assignment as possible while your TA is available to help.
  8. When you finish, you will turn in the documentation of your Matlab work to your TA. Make sure the following information is on a cover sheet.
    • Fall 2014 Math 151 Matlab Assignment 3
    • Section xxx, Group Members' Names, Student UINs
  9. In addition, each group member should initial the problem(s) he or she worked on, to encourage ALL group members to participate in the lab. An individual who does not contribute anything to the lab may receive a ZERO for the lab!
  10. Various MATLAB videos that you have viewed in advance show how to use xprint to print your .pdf files from CalcLab. Alternatively, transfer your files to the Open Access Lab using a flash drive, email, or FileZilla and print directly from Matlab.
Notes
  • There are samples of the types of problems you have to do in Chapter 2 your lab manual.
