Duties

Administration of the Maple and Matlab programs, including information handouts, first week labs, Calclab homepage for the Web, answering questions from students, TAs and faculty; administration of the Maple lab staff (student workers who assist TAs in lab sections and staff open hours); helps to train new graduate students and faculty in the use of Maple; incorporates new technology into the mathematics curriculum; teaches Engineering Calculus I, II, and III (Math 151, 152, and 253), Differential Equations (Math 308), and/or Special Topics in Maple (Math 489), all with technology components (Maple, HP 48G/GX); helps with tutorials and help sessions for students, graduate students and faculty (UNIX, the X Window System, Mozilla, and HP and TI calculators).

General instruction from the Associate Head for Operations.
Given:
Calclab staff.

Education

Required:
Bachelor's degree in mathematics, computer science, or engineering.
Preferred:
Master's degree in mathematics or related field.

Experience

Required:
1 - 2 years experience as systems analyst, software engineer or computer programmer.
