Editorial Assistant - Robin Campbell

Summary

Provides advanced secretarial skills of a technical nature, operating specialized software in support of scientists and engineers working in technical, academic and research areas.

Duties

Assists faculty in typing, from rough draft, technical research manuscripts, specialized tables, proposals and monographs. Also types letters, budgets, curriculum vitae, annual reports and special exams. Material contains a substantial amount of complex mathematical formulae and equations and requires the use of computerized word processing equipment with specialized software packages. Maintains an electronic library of files for each faculty member. Formats and enters information on department's web pages. Updates departmental newsletter. Checks incoming e-mail messages for the Department account, other duties as required.

Received:
Broad instructions with occasional review by the Administrative Coordinator.

Given:
None.

Education

Required:
Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in business or liberal arts.

Experience

Required:
One year experience in typing of specialized technical material. Demonstrated proficiency in use of HTML.

Preferred:
Working knowledge of specific computer software: PlainTeX, AmsteX and LateX.
