eHomework Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Can I get an email that reminds me about upcoming assignment due dates?
Answer: Yes, in WebAssign you can set up email notifications for upcoming due dates, due date changes, and new announcements. Click on Notifications in the upper right of your screen and set your preferences for the different notifications.
  2. I put in the correct username, password, and institution, but the system repeatedly gives an "Invalid Login" message.
Answer: You are trying to login from the wrong webpage. All TAMU students need to log into WebAssign at http://www.webassign.net/tamu/login.html.
  3. I was enrolled in a math 152 section 513-515 when I purchased the code and perscribed for the online homework service. Then I switch my section to 507-509 and was wondering am I going to have to repurchase a new code, or can I transfer my account to the new section, or does it transfer automatically?
Answer: Your code will transfer with you, but you need to fill out a TAMU student help request form (http://www.math.tamu.edu/ehmwk/studenthelp.html). In the "description of problem" poriton of the form, be sure to put which course and section you were originally enrolled in and then which course and section you have transferred to. Someone will notify you when your transfer is complete.
  4. Every time I click on "Submit All Questions" it brings me back to the main list of assignments and doesn't save any work.
Answer: This is most likely related to Flash since the math palette and Graphpad use Flash. Usually upgrading or reinstalling Flashplayer should take care of it. You will also need to have the most recent version of Java and you maywant to try a different browser, such as Firefox (available free from http://www.mozilla.org). Most often these problems are caused by third party spyware and other downloaded programs from the internet.Make sure your computer has anti virus and anti spyware and keep an up to date browser and you should not experience these problems.
  5. I typed in 0.33 as an answer, but it was marked wrong. The correct answer is 1/3. Why is my answer wrong?
Answer: When you put the cursor in the answer box, you should see a grey rectangle that notifies you whether you need to submit an exact answer or an approximated answer. If you need to submit an exact answer, then you must input 1/3,not the decimal approximation of 0.33.
  6. My question asked to find the equation of a line and I typed 2x+ 1, but the answer is 2c + 1. Why is my answer wrong?
Answer: You need to pay close attention to the variables used in the problem. If c is the independent variable used in the problem, then you must use this same variable in your answer. If no variables are stated in the given problem, then the default variable is generally x.
