Higher invariants of elliptic differential operators have 
been discovered in the last ten years and have been used 
to solve several long standing open questions in geometry 
and topology. In this course, we will introduce the theory  
of higher invariants of elliptic operators. We will discuss 
how to compute these invariants and apply these invariants 
to solve problems in geometry and topology.
