SMaRT Camp

Summer Mathematics Research Training High School Camp

June 16 (arrival) - 29 (departure), 2013

Miscellaneous Information

Information on this page will be updated periodically, so watch for updates.

Travel

It is IMPORTANT that all accepted participants arrive on June 16th and depart on June 29th. No arrival later than June 16th and departure before June 29th should be planned. If the student is flying, the arrival should be to the College Station, TX airport (Easterwood Airport, the airport code CLL). The arrival and departure information will be collected from all participating students and we will meet them at the airport on arrival and take them there for the departure. Our airport is small and one cannot get lost. Please look for a person with the SMaRT camp sign.
Those arriving by car will be allowed to park on the Parking Lot 32 on Sunday June 16th and Saturday June 29th. To get to the parking lot, turn to Houston from the University Drive and go forward a hundred yards. The parking lot will be on your right and Haas Hall will be the 1st building (following the same direction) from the lot.

Dorm

Haas

Summer weather in Texas might get very hot, so having hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen lotion is highly advisable.

Free laundry facilities are available in the dorm. Students need to buy (or bring) their own detergent.

Supervision

Undergraduate counselors will live in the dorm with the students. Counselors and faculty will be present at all of the program's activities. However, students will enjoy significant freedom during the rest of the day, so a sufficient level of maturity on their part is assumed. A form releasing SMaRT camp and Texas A&M from any liability will need to be signed by the parents.

It is recommended that students have a small amount of cash for incidentals during they travel and stay on campus.

Curfew

A curfew will be imposed on students from 10pm till 6am.

Medical treatment

The SMaRT camp does not provide any medical insurance. It is thus required that students have medical insurance.
