MPHA Seminar, Blocker 627, 5th October 2007, 1:50pm Speaker: Alexei Poltoratski, Texas A&M Title: Toeplitz kernels, completeness and spectral problems for differential operators Abstract: I will discuss a generalized version of the classical Beurling-Malliavin theory developed recently in our joint work with N. Makarov. The BM theory was initially created to solve the problem of completeness of exponential functions in L^2 on an interval. Its generalized version concernes problems of injectivity of Toeplitz operators in various classes of analytic functions. Most of the talk will be devoted to applications to completeness problems for families of special functions and spectral problems for Schroedinger operators.
