Partial Support: A limited amount of funding is available for the partial support of participants. Priority will be given to junior researches and members of under-represented groups who have no other sources of support to attend the conference. Please indicate the amount of support requested on the Registration Form and send it to Judy Gloyna as soon as possible.

Contributed Talks:  A small number of contributed talks will be accepted, tentatively slated at 20 minutes each for the afternoon of Saturday, October 23, 1999. Please e-mail your name, and the title and abstract of your talk to Judy Gloyna as soon as possible; please see Registration Form.

Special Guest of Honor: There will be a dinner party at the home of Goong Chen the night of Friday, October 22, 1999, to celebrate the 60th birthday of Professor David L. Russell of Virginia Tech, in honor of his fundamental contributions to the theory of distributed parameter control systems.

Publication: We have arranged with Marcel Dekker and the Electronic Journal of Differential Equations (EJDE, see Internet Website http://ejde.math.swt.edu/) to publish a special volume for the conference and in honor of D.L. Russell's  60th birthday.  All speakers at the conference are invited to submit their papers to G. Chen for consideration of publication in EJDE.

Airlines and Travel Information:  College Station is served by Continental  (with connections at Houston's Bush Intercontinental Airport) and  American Airlines (with connections at DFW Airport).  College Station is about 95 miles northwest of Houston.  Driving time from Austin, Houston and Dallas-Ft. Worth is, respectively, 2 hours, 2 hours, and 3.25 hours.

Lodging: We have reserved a block of rooms at the Hampton Inn-College Station (320 Texas Avenue South). The Hampton provides free continental breakfast, airport and campus shuttle services, and is within walking distance to the TAMU campus. The conference rate is $62.00/night. (The total cost for participants will be $70.06/per night, including tax.) You will need to indicate that you are a participant of the "Math NSF Conference" to register for one of the block rooms at the conference rate. Hampton Inn's phone number is (409) 846-0184. The last day to reserve a block room is September 15.
