PARTICIPANT SUPPORT

The purpose of this conference is to gather together frontier researchers in this field to review the recent accomplishments, examine the state of the art, and hold forward-looking discussions in/for the mathematical research of quantum computation and technology. We want to encourage young researchers to contribute their findings, and to draw graduate students, fresh post-doctoral researchers as well as more senior mathematicians to participate so they can gain broad exposure to and/or stay abreast of new advances and opportunities in the field.

The first day of tutorials will bring new researchers in attendence up to speed. Then, in the official conference, through the many talks by leading scientists and mathematicians, and through the interactions of the many participants working in a workshop atmosphere, we aim to introduce algebraic, analytic and topological methods for the study physical models and the ensuring problems in consonance with, and in support of, the contemporary quantum-computer and quantum-technology development. Specifically, we will ask the speakers to lecture on the newest technical developments in quantum computing software and hardware, mathematical methods from representation theory, lie theory, combinatorial group theory, Hopf algebras, algorithmic complexity, control theory, partial differential equations, categorical structures, knot theory, and quantum topology for problem solving, and their holistic synergism in this research. Finally, through a panel session we will address new trends, opportunities and open problems in this field.

We will be able to offer partial support for expenses to some participants. Graduate students, junior faculty, women, minorities, and persons with disabilities are especially encouraged to participate and to apply for support.

If you wish to apply for support, please fill out the request for support section on the registration form. Please indicate your support needs. Graduate students will be asked to share a room with one other student. Early application is encouraged. Inquiries regarding support may also be sent to the following address:
