Title:The Peak Algebra and the Descent Algebras of Types B and D
Abstract: In 1976 Louis Solomon introduced a collection of descent algebras associated to finite Coxeter groups. We will look at the existence of a subalgebra of the symmetric group algebra linearly spanned by sums of permutations with a common peak set. We also show its connections to the descent algebras of types B and D. This is joint work with Marcelo Aguiar and Nantel Bergeron. |
