Pseudomodular groups
Abstract: The set of parabolic fixed points for PSL(2,Z) acting on the circle at infinity is Q \cup {\infty}. In general determining the set of parabolic fix points of a Fuchsian group is hard. A pseudomodular group is one that has the same set of parabolic fixed points as PSL(2,Z) but is not commensurable (up to conjugacy) with PSL(2,Z). This talk will explore the existence of such groups, and other related topics. |
