Title:Projection maps, shellings and duality
Abstract: Projection maps appeared independently in the theory of buildings and oriented matroids. The close connection between these maps and the notion of shellability was first observed by Bj{\"o}rner. In this talk, i will explain this connection and make the correspondence more precise. In addition we will also discuss a duality result on buildings which can be regarded as a q-analogue to the Dehn-Sommerville equations. All necessary terms will be defined. |
