Title: Discretization methods for systems of convection-diffusion-dispersion-reaction equations and applications

Abstract

We present the discretisation methods for the convection-diffusion-dispersion-reaction-equations and their applications. For the convection-reaction-equation we use explicit time-discretisation and finite volumes for the space discretisation. We split into one dimensional problems and use the Godunovs method for the convection-reaction equation. The transport step is solved analytically with a new derived analytical solution done with Laplace transformation. We then distribute the analytical mass over the surfaces of the finite volumes to get a coupled solution for the convection-reaction equation. The diffusion-dispersion-equation is solved with an implicit time-discretisation and finite volumes. For both methods we get second order discretisations. The equations are coupled together with the operator-splitting method. The methods are realised in the program-tool R3T (radionuclide-reaction-retardation-transport), which was programmed for the simulation of transport-processes in flowing groundwater. We use numerical benchmark-problems to verify the new method. The methods are used for an application in radionuclides transport in flowing groundwater. The problem is solved with parallel computers to get a solution with a complex domain and 26 components. Finally we propose the further works.
