Title: Accurate and robust algorithms for solving a class of poroelasticity equations
Time: 3:00-4:00 pm
Place: HRBB 702

Abstract

Quasi-steady state poroelasticity system is used in simulation of soil consolidation, human bones, tissues, filtration, etc. In this talk we pay attention to accurate discretization and developing robust algorithms for the case of discontinuous coefficients. We consider relatively simple case of a layered media, but on the other hand we allow the interface to cross the grid cells. Second order accurate discretization for such problems is derived, and a robust multigrid algorithm, exploiting problem dependent prolongation, is developed.
