TI-83 Plus Calculator Tutorial

Abstract:

The TI-83 Plus calculator is widely used in high schools across America. Currently, the only tutorial for this calculator is a lengthy and often complicated reference guide. There has been some work done through a past research program at Texas A&M University to create a tutorial in which the students work along with videos and are able to see and hear how operations are performed on the calculator. This work is not yet finished and is still in preliminary form. Our goal is to send this preliminary copy to several different high school math educators and have them fill out a questionnaire on the usefulness of the program. We ultimately want to gain feedback on this product to see if it will be helpful to the students and to see how we could improve on the product to make it available for use in an academic setting.
