When I moved to Austin, I got myself a digital camera, making it simpler to allow others to trace my ways in this new country. So this is the place for the friends at home to see where I have been...

Visit from home (March 2004)

In March, my mother come over on her way back from Mexico, to see whether I am alright in this strange new country. We went to see a couple of places in and around Austin, among them first Barton Creek, a nice shady creek in the middle of town where I had been hiking with Fabio & friends before:

Second stop: the capitol of the capital of Texas. Funny enough, I had never been in it before, despite the fact that I worked and lived within 2 miles of it for most of the last 1 1/2 years. The second picture is taken from the inside of the dome downward, showing the five countries Texas has belonged to in its history (France, Spain, its independence, the Confederacy, and the United States).
