When I moved to Austin, I got myself a digital camera, making it simpler
to allow others to trace my ways in this new country. So this
is the place for the friends at home to see where I have been...
Clicking on an image will produce a larger version. To see
earlier or later pictures, use the menu bar at the right,
which is sorted reverse chronological, i.e. newest sets of pictures
at the top.
My Texas (August 2007)
Texas has become so endeared to me mainly because there's
still space: areas where few people live, where one can drive
or ride a bike without entering the next town just after
leaving the previous one. I find it wonderful to then hike or
drive or ride somewhere where there's a vista of some more or
less pristine landscape, in particular in Hill Country west
and south of Austin. The pictures below are from Garner State
Park where we and a few friends of ours had rented a cabin for
a weekend:
