Final exam and review
The final exam is on December 8, Monday, 1-3pm. There will be 6 questions, 3 on Chap.14, 1 on Chap.13, 1 on Chap.12 and 1 on Chap.11.
There will be a Q&A review session on Sunday, 7th Dec, in Bloc156 at 2pm. Prepare your questions for the review. If you do not ask the questions, I will not give the answers.

Finally, to receive a 10% bonus on your Exam 2 score, please submit the solution to the following problem before the exam: Suppose f is a differentiable function of one variable. Show that all tangent planes to the surface z=xf(y/x) intersect in a common point.

Exam 1 date and Bonus
We will have exam 1 on Thursday, Sep 11 at the usual lecture time and place. The questions will be mostly from sections 11.4 and 11.5. I would recommend to look through all the problems starting with 47 in section 11.5 and starting with 25 in 11.5.
There will be a Q&A review session on Wednesday, Sep 10 at 5:10-6pm in HELD 109. Prepare your questions for the review. If you do not ask the questions, I will not give the answers.
Finally, to receive a 10% bonus on Exam 1 score, please submit the solution to the following problem before the exam on Thursday, Sep 11: Derive the formula for the distance from a point A to a plane P by finding the point X which is the base of the perpendicular from A to P.

Art Belmonte prepared good summaries of the sections with some worked examples (click on the relevant Chapter and then Lecture, summaries are in PDF). In class I will generally do examples different from those appearing in the summaries.
