The course

This course covers Lebesgue's theory of the integral on the real line; the Stieltjes integral; and applications to Fourier series.

Textbook
The required textbook is Real Analysis by N. L. Carothers, Cambridge University Press, 1999, ISBN-13: 978-0521497565. In Math 446 last semester, we covered approximately Chapters 1-11. In Math 447, we will start with Part Three (Chapters 16-20) and then, as time permits, do some topics from the end of Part Two.
Prerequisite
The prerequisite for this course is Math 446.

The course meets 4:10-5:25 on Monday and Wednesday in CE 203.
