Space and Time Adaptivity for Moving and Free Boundary
Problems

Adaptive Methods for Coupled Problems
or
Numerical Simulation of bilayer actuators
should contact me.

Possible research subjects include the numerical analysis and
simulation of complex fluids
and cell motility.
The candidates will be invited to join the teams
working on the projects.


To be well prepared for research you should consider the following
recommendation on the classes to take: 

Qualifying Exams: Applied Math / Numerical Analysis and either Real Analysis (prefered) or
Differential Geometry / Topology.


Breadth Requirement Courses: (1) Differential Geometry or Real analysis depending on the
qualifying exams choice; (2) Graph Theory or Combinatoric


Other Recommended Classes: Any special topic class in numerical analysis or approximation theory, MTH661, MTH 676, MTH611, MTH 612.
