Upscaling/multiscale methods for partial differential equations and applications to porous media flows.

First meeting: Wednesday 11am in Blocker 608M (if you cant make it, please come and see me on Tuesday (all day) or Wednesday (by 1pm), or send me an email).

Synopsis: The course will cover analytical and numerical techniques for
multiscale problems. Homogenization methods and their applications
to numerical simulations of multiscale problems will be discussed.
Various finite element/volume based numerical homogenization/multiscale methods
as well as multiscale numerical methods for problems without scale separation
will be covered in this course.

Prerequisite: Instructor's approval

Grading: Grades will be based on homework and projects

No textbook. Handouts will be distributed.
