FMOW Information


What is FMOW?

FMOW (Finite Math on the Web) consists of two parts: a courseware link (found in the left [blue]) iLrn menu that has tutorials with interactive applets for the students to and assessements that are assigned for a grade. The courseware activities are static, but provide detailed solutions to the exercises. The assessments (quizzes) are algorithmic, so the students will have new values each time a quiz is taken.

Which classes use FMOW?

FMOW is required for Math 141 and Math 166.

How do I use FMOW?

If you are teaching Math 141 or Math 166, the FMOW quizzes will be assigned to each of your sections. The settings of the quizzes can be modified, but please check with your course coordinator before changing values. The suggested value in your syllabus is 10% to 15% of the class grade. More or less than that requires course coordinator approval.
