• MATH 141 ONLY: If you are having trouble getting your book, the first chapter is free at www.ichapters.com . Search for it by ISBN (0495387533). Be sure to click the title of the book to get to the page where the first chapter is free.

• If you are having problems with opening standard pdf files [not an eBook],
  • Right click the link to the pdf file and save the file to your desktop.
  • Open your Adobe Reader program
  • In the Adobe Reader program use the file -> open to view the pdf file.

• If you use Vista, you must use Adobe 8.1 [Thanks to Rachel Adams for this information.]
  • Be sure all previously installed unsealers are uninstalled first. Use the link above if you need help.
  • Uninstall Adobe 9. You may call help desk central at 845-8300 for help with this step.
  • Install Adobe 8. You may do this at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2_allversions.html
  • Re-install the unsealer which is located at
    http://www.ichapters.com/market/eBookAccess.html
    Be sure to pick the Vista version [NOT WINDOWS] on the platform pull-down menu.

• When I try to open my chapters I get prompted for a username/password for the Unsealer Control Panel. What do I use?
  • You will use your iChapters username and password for the Unsealer. Normally your e-mail address is your username for the site and the Unsealer.
  
  
• HOW TO VIEW AN EBOOK AT A CAMPUS COMPUTER LAB
  Thanks to David Poprik for his tireless efforts to get this to work.
  • Nearly all computers in the campus computer labs -
    that is, Blocker computer lab (BLOC), the Student Computing Center (SCC) and the West Campus Library (WCL) and others -
    have the sealer installed.
    If you have problems opening the eBook, please to do not ask the help staff as they will likely not be helpful. Try 866-994-2427 during business hours and http://tinyurl.com/2s7kqr (choose the chat option) after hours.
    
  • When you open the book for the first time you will be prompted for your account login for ichapters. There is a check box to remember the login info. Do not check this box as this information will not be saved on the lab computer.
  • You can then view your book. When you are done, CLOSE THE BOOK and then check it in. And if you decided check the remember box, you will STILL need to put in your login information again.
  • To check it in, you right click on the tray icon. This icon is a square with red brackets in the right side of the toolbar as shown below. There you see the option to check in the book.
