Catalog Description
Math 409. Advanced Calculus I.(3-0). Credit 3. I, II. Axioms of the real number system; point set theory of R1; compactness, completeness and connectedness; continuity and uniform continuity; sequences, series; theory of Riemann integration. Prerequisites: MATH 220; 221

Tests
  • Test 1: Wednesday, July 2.
  • Test 2: Monday, July 28.
  • Final Examination: Tuesday, August 12, 3:30-5:30 pm.
  • Syllabus The first half of the course will cover most of chapters 1-3, and the second half will cover chapters 4-6.

    Grading System & Tests: Your grade will be based on two major tests, homework/quizzes, and a final exam. Each test will count for 25% of your grade, the homework/quizzes for another 25%, and the final exam for the remaining 25%. Your letter grade will be assigned this way: 90-100%, A; 80-89%, B; 70-79%, C; 60-69%, D; 59% or less, F.

    Make-up Policy: Your instructor will give make-ups (or satisfactory equivalents) only in cases authorized under TAMU Regulations. In borderline cases, he will decide whether or not the excuse is authorized. Also, if you miss a test, contact him as soon as possible.
