I have just started a four-year appointment (5/14–4/18) as a visiting adjunct professor in the Department of Combinatorics and Optimization at the University of Waterloo. Read the announcement.
Nickolas Hein, an August 2013 TAMU Ph.D. working with me, is starting a tenure-track job in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
His thesis is Reality and Computation in Schubert Calculus.

Research Interests: Algebraic combinatorics, real and computational algebraic geometry, applications of algebraic geometry, Hopf Algebras, Discrete and Computational Geometry, tropical geometry.
