Dear Friends,
It is with great sadness that I share with you the news of the death of my friend and collaborator, Mikael Passare. In addition to being a vigorous mathematician and leader of mathematicians, Mikael was an avid outdoorsman. On 15 September 2011, Mikael died while hiking in Oman.
This is a great loss to Swedish mathematics and to his many friends around the world.
