MATLAB information

The software Matlab will be used in this class in order to avoid extensive hand calculations
and to elucidate important concepts.
It is a standard software for mathematical computations at universities and in industry.

Please have MATLAB set up on your calclab account for the second class (Tuesday, Aug 30).
Extensive information on the setup process can be found on Art Belmonte's Home Page.
In Calclab, use the Linux setup. You can also use the setup at home; just select the suitable
operating system option there.

Make sure your have a look at Dr. Belmonte's streaming videos explaining the setup process.

• HW1, due Tuesday Sept 4th (at the beginning of class): I.1: 2, 4, 14; I.2: 4, 6, 20, 24, 26; I.3: 4, 8, 10.
