Book and Homework
-
Textbook: All Math 150 classes use the same book. It
is an electronic book (eBook). It is part of the course resource materials
available on Webassign. There
is a $45 fee for the eBook and for the electronic Homework (eHW).
-
Online
Homework: We will do electronic homework on
Webassign. Due dates are on the site. The eBook
is also available under the Resources tab on Webassign.
-
Help with Webassign:
here is the Math Department's help page for the eBook and eHW
- Supplementary
Homework: All odd exercises in your eBook will eventually be
due and handed in during recitation. A schedule of due dates is on
the website of our TA,
Yi-Ching
Wang. These problems are due in recitation.
- I strongly urge you to do every homework problem in our eBook.
Frankly, there aren't that many of them.
- Grading of Supplementary Homework that is handed in: Supplementary homework
will be graded on whether or not you did it, and how much of it you
did. You must show your work, you may not simply write down
answers. Each homework set will be worth 10 points. You will get
points in proportion to the number of assigned problems you do. If
you do most of them (90%+) you will get 10 points. If you do 80-89%
you will get 9 points. If you do 70-79% you will get 8 points, etc.
-
Notecard and Study Skills assignment: Due in lecture on
Thursday September 10, 2009.
- Guidelines for working together on Homework
There will be quizzes in recitation. These may or may not be
announced in advance.
