• Final Exam Friday December 9, 3-5 pm in HELD 111. You may bring one 3x5 inch notecard filled out (both sides) in your own handwriting with whatever notes you want. Notecards will be handed in with the exam; please put your name on your notecard.

• A solid foundation in algebra, trigonometry, differential calculus and basic integrals is required for this course.

Math 152 Course Schedule

Book and Homework

• Textbook: All Math 152 classes use the same book: Stewart's Calculus: Early Vectors. You can buy an electronic book (eBook) through Webassign. Buying a paper copy is optional optional (ISBN 113344427x). You may be using Webassign in Math 251 (this is up to the instructor, not dictated by the department).
• Online homework with Webassign: You will have to buy a license to use Webassign after the trial period is over; you will be using it throughout Math 152 (and possibly also in Math 251). Due Dates are on the site.
• Help with Webassign: here is the Math Department's help page for the eBook and eHW
  Webassign does not play nice with the MacIntosh Safari browser. If you have a Mac, install Firefox or Chrome and use one of those browsers with Webassign.
• Supplementary Homework: Do the supplementary homework if you are expecting to get a good grade in this course.
• I strongly urge you to do every interesting problem in our book. You'll learn a lot. You need to master calculus for your future classes, Math 308 in particular. Get ahead on that now.
• Notecard Assignment
• MATLAB assignments are assigned and explained in Thursday's Lab class. Notecard assignment: Due in lecture on Wednesday September 7, 2011.

Quizzes

There will be quizzes in recitation. These may or may not be announced in advance.

Exams

Required at each exam unless otherwise noted:

• You need to know your section #.
• Your student ID.
• #2 pencils with erasers.
• NO Calculators.
• At your desk is just you, your pencil, ID, and water bottle. No wallets, pencil bags, etc..
• Cellphones must be silenced and put away in your bags.
• Hats, sunglasses must be removed.
• Your bags are put to the front, rear or sides of the room, away from your desk.

Schedule:

• Math 152 Common Exam Schedule and room assignments.
• Exam 1 will be on Tuesday, September 27 from 7:30 - 9:30 pm. It will be held in HECC 204. It is over sections 6.4 to section 8.2
• Exam 2 will be on Thursday, October 27 from 7:30 - 9:30 pm. It will be held in HECC 204. is over section 8.3 to section 10.2.
• Exam 3 will be on Tuesday, November 29 from 7:30 - 9:30 pm. It will be held in HECC 204. It is over section 10.3 to section 11.2
• The Final Exam is on Friday, December 9, 2011 from 3 - 5 pm in our regular classroom, HELD 111. The final exam is cumulative. It covers everything we did from 6.4 to 13.4.
