Abstract:
We introduce the decomposition rank, a notion of covering
dimension for nuclear C*-algebras and outline its abstract
properties.
Furthermore, we consider various examples and give a first
classification theorem for certain simple C*-algebras with
finite decomposition rank.
Most of the results presented are joint work with E. Kirchberg.
