Title: HNN extensions in operator algebras.

Abstract: There are two fundamental constructions in combinatorial group theory; one is that of free products (with amalgamations) and the other is that of HNN extensions. In the operator algebra framework free products have been investigated seriously so far, but HNN extensions had never been done until my work. In the talk, I will summarize my works concerning HNN extensions.
