Matlab diaries and illustrations
-
A file for solving a system of two linear differential equations with constant coefficients, needed in Matlab Assignment 4.
-
Diary from October 28. A partial fraction decomposition, using cpf.
-
Diary from October 19. Numerous examples of mass-spring systems, also discussed on the board in class. For numerical calculations, we used the M-file co2cos.
-
Diary From October 7. We solved a predator-prey system using ode45, and plotted the result. We also looked at the Rock-scissors-paper model and (briefly) at the Lorenz model, and used plot3 to make three-dimensional plots.
-
Diary From October 5. We solved a "competing species" system using ode45, and plotted the result. Some related M-files: Competing species, Predator-prey, Rock-Scissors-Paper, and the Lorenz system.
-
Diary from September 16. We drew a phase portrait, solved a system of differential equations, and plotted the result. Commands pplane7 and plot, as well as ways to access two components of the solution, and a way to define the time vector.
-
Diary from September 9. We solved a differential equation and plotted the result. Commands dsolve, pretty, ezplot, subs.
-
Diary from September 2. We plotted three functions on the same graph and labeled them (functions came from a "heating and cooling" problem). Commands linspace, plot, legend.
