This is a first semseter course in calculus. Topics include functions of one variable, vectors and curves in the plane, limits, derivatives, related rates, optimization problems, antiderivatives, definite and indefinite integrals, and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. Textbook:  The required textbook is Calclus, Early Vectors, by James Stewart, Thomson Brooks/Cole, 1999, ISBN 0534493483.

Exams:  There will be 3 common Exams (in the evenings) and a Final Exam. See schedule below. 




Homework:  Online homework will be assigned weekly through Texas Teaching Tools. Additional suggested homework problems are also available here. 




Quizzes:  There will be a quiz during recitation sections approximately every week. 




Maple:  There will be weekly Maple assignments given during recitation sections. For a schedule, click here. 




Calculators:  Use of calculators on homework is perfectly acceptable. However, calculators will not be permitted on quizzes and exams. 




Prerequisite:  Math 150 (precalculus) or equivalent.

Missed Work:  Making up missed work (including missed exams, quizzes, and homework) will be arranged according to Univesrity policies only.
