Final Project

(due Tuesday 8/5/08 and Wednesday 8/6/08)

The Final Project will consist of the following parts, combining aspects of the previous four projects.

Choose a mathematical concept, DIFFERENT from those discussed in your projects 1-4 (and obviously different from other students).

You will incorporate all you have learned in this course [HTML, javascript, asciimathml, animated gifs, matlab m-files, matlab guis, etc] to create a cohesive, informative and well-structured web site to present this concept.

    1. Create a web site for, and a link to, your final project. This should be accessible from your web page on http://calclab.math.tamu.edu/

    2. Create a PDF file which explains the context of your chosen mathematical subject area. Use TeX/LaTeX or Word to create the file, but the end result should be a PDF file with equations and graphics.

    3. Incorporate AsciiMathML to render mathematical equations in your web page.

    4. Create one or more MatLab m-file's in support of your problem. Create a link to download your MatLab m-files. Describe how Matlab is being used to solve this particular part of the problem. EXTRA CREDIT: Build a Matlab GUI, which can be downloaded and run to support your instructional web page.

    5. Create several animated gif's, and place them in your final project web site.

    6. Include as extensive a list of references (in the form of URL links, or citations) as you can.

    7. Prepare a 20 min presentation for Tuesday 8/5/08 or Wednesday 8/6/08. This can be done through Centra, or by a telephone conference call.

This gives you a chance to really show what you have learned!
