Fourth Project
(due Wed. 8/7/02):
- Option 1 - Create a Matlab version of your Maple Project # 3
- Option 2 - Create a series of benchmarks and test Maple and Matlab
on as many different machines as you can. This should test
- linear and nonlinear solvers
- ordinary differential equation solvers
- 2-D graphics
- 3-D graphics
- animation (if possible)
- Option 3 - Use MatLab as a means to present a mathematical concept
(as in Project #3). This should, as in project #3,
- Introduce a mathematical topic
- Give an elementary example
- Develop a solution strategy or algorithm
- Illustrate the concepts graphically
- Contain at least one animation (if possible)
- Allows the students to interactively change parameters
The result will be a MatLab m-file
