Whenever you are asked to round (to, say, 3 decimal places), your answer should be rounded to exactly three decimal places. For example, if you are to round 1.2345 + 2.0001 to three decimal places, you should write "3.235" not "3.2346". If you are to write 1.2 + 3.4 to three decimal places, you may write "3.6" as no rounding is required. How can I start the homework early when we haven't finished all of the sections?
