Prabir Daripa
Please allow me to introduce myself...
Professor Daripa has a very broad range of interests in problems
originating in applied fields.
His research and teaching interests are
applied mathematics
computational science and engineering
theoretical and computational fluid dynamics
numerical analysis
techniques for solving partial differntial equations
He has done research in a wide variety of fluid mechanics, applied
mathematics and PDEs, high performance
scientific
computing, engineering sciences and software development.
He has made contributions in many fields including the following:
aerodynamic design, enhanced oil recovery, turbulent combustion, bio-fluid
dynamics, computation of free surface flows, Stokes flows, nonlinear wave
propagation, solitons, conservation laws, front-tracking, numerical
solution of illposed problems, numerical quasiconformal mappings,
development of fast sequential and parallel algorithms for solving nonlinear
PDES, boundary integral methods, finite difference, finite element and
spectral methods, software development for applications, etc.
Some of the fields and problems he is currently working (or contemplating)
on are mentioned under Research.
