Homework = neat, legible, easy to follow, handwritten, individually turned in, on time.
Homework is
to be placed on the table at the front of
the classroom at the beginning of the lecture. No papers will be
accepted after 10 minutes from the beginning of class.
Late homework will not be accepted and will recieve a 0% unless the
lateness is due to a documented emergency.
If a student has a
university-approved reason for why he/she cannot turn in an assignment
(such as and academic or athletic even), it is the student’s
responsibility to either turn in the assignment early or get in touch
with the professor at least two weeks before the due date to make
altenate arrangements.
If you turn it
in to my office (Blocker 245D) or by e-mail, make sure you do it at least 20 minutes
before the class starts at due date. Attach
an excused documentation.
When turning in your
assignment by email, please, follow the guidelines below:
On
each assignment you turn in, the submitted document must have
your name, the due date of the assignment, and the assignmentnumber.
Save
the file asLastName_Assignment#_Math220_sp19.
Scan the paper(s) as a
merged PDF document. Then submit the merged PDF document.
For full credit on the homework, you must show all work and
justify your answers.
Emphasis will be placed on writing carefully and precisely.
Working together on homework is fine and encouraged, but
each of you must write up your own solutions in your own words, notation and/or symbols and write the names of your collaborators at the top left corner of your homework. Copying a
solution from a source and referencing the source is still
considered a violation of academic integrity because you are
submitting work for a grade that is not your own work.
Work that does NOT meet the following requirements might be returned ungraded (or some points might be taken off).
Staple the homework pages together. Folded or paper clipped homework will NOT be accepted.
Do not tear out pages from a spiral notebook; use clean-edged paper.
Print your full name and the section number at the top right corner.
Write the page number at the top right corner of each paper in your assignment.
Do the problems in consecutive order.
Leave enough space between the problems for the grader's comments.
Show ALL your work. Just writing the answers down is not enough.
YOUR WORK MUST BE NEAT, EASY TO FOLLOW.
If
you handwriting is illegible, you will be given a warning, after which
the grader will no longer accept your assignments unless they are
legible.
