Who: For interested high school students in the Connecticut Valley region.
What: The Valley Mathematical Sciences Day is day of discovery in the mathematical sciences.
Where:
16th floor lounge (Room 1634) in the Lederle Graduate Research Tower at U Mass.
When: Saturday, May 18, 2002 from 10:00 AM though 1:30 PM. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Why:
To foster a regional community of students interested in mathematics through a program of activities and presentations by University faculty.

12:00-12:45Lunch (Pizza)

Registration:   Please contact Frank Sottile (sottile@math.umass.edu). Registration is not required, but will ensure there is adequate food and refreshments.

The future:   While this is the first Valley Mathematical Sciences Day, we plan to hold two each year beginning next Fall.
