Possible Reports
Math 220, Fall 2008
Before starting your report be sure we discuss what you want to do. I suggest we have this conversation within the first month of the semester. A first draft should be turned in no later than the end of March. I will read your draft and offer suggestions (no grade on draft).. The final paper must be turned in no later than Monday, November 17th. I want your report to be about 2000 words, and it goes without saying that these words will be correctly spelled.
The report must contain some mathematical results and at least one proof.
The list of possible projects below should not be construed as the only possibilities. If you would like to write a paper on some other topic feel free to discuss this with me.
1. Envelope of a family of curves.
2. Permutation groups
