Equivalence
relations, quasi-periodicity, and triangle buildings
Mikael Pichot of IHES
I will present the notion of measured equivalence relation from a
geometric point of view and discuss the concentration of measure
property in that framework. Examples of measured equivalence relations
arise, for instance, from nonsingular actions of groups on probability
spaces, foliation theory, questions of classification,.... A part of
the talk will be devoted to the problem of classification of triangle
buildings (joint work with Sylvain Barre).
