Obstructed topological polynomials realizing particular ramification graphs
Greg Kelsey of University
of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Given a ramification graph describing the post-critical dynamics of a
topological polynomial subject to the conditions that a) no critical
value is the image of a post-critical point, and b) the graph does not
have only a single period, and that period is only length one, we
construct a new topological polynomial which has the same ramification
graph, but is not Thurston equivalent to any complex polynomial. This
gives us many new examples of obstructed topological polynomials.
