Student Working seminar in Algebra & Geometry
- Fall 2017 -
Monday 4:15 - 5:00 pm.
The goal of this seminar is to provide graduate students with a space in which to share and discuss topics in mathematics that they are learning about in a reading course.
This seminar is designed to be very relaxed.
Every other week we will hear from a group about their reading topic for ~30 minutes.
It is strongly encouraged to stay after the talk for an informal discussion about the topic
Representations of noncommutative algebras (Tour of representation theory by Martin Lorenz): Dustin McPhate and Pablo Sanchez-Ocal.
Numerical Algebraic Geometry (Assorted notes): Taylor Brysiewicz and Elise Walker.
Schubert Polynomials (Macdonald): Li Ying
Braid Groups (Turaev): Andrew Kimball
Computational Algebraic Geometry (Ideals, Varieties, and Algorithms by Cox, Little, and O'shea): Byeongsu Yu
