My current research is concerned with the mathematical and
statistical modelling of insect migrations, particularly the migration of
the Africanized honey bee. This is joint research with J.~Matis and
T.~Wehrly of the Statistics Department here. My work involves the
derivation and solution of large systems of differential equations. The
derivation of these equations relies heavily on the symbolic computational
abilities of ``Mathematica'', while the numerical solution of the equations
uses the numerical routines incorporated into the program ``ODE SOLVER''
written by Bill Rundell and myself.
