Construction of the cos curve
The following animation may help you visualize the construction of the
cos graph.
Recall that for a
unit circle x = cos q
and y = sin q,
where q is the
angle counterclockwise from the positive x-axis.
Thus the horizontal position x of a point on the circle becomes the height of a point on the graph of
x = cos q.
Thus, to view the graph of
x = cos q,
you must tilt your head to the right.
