Instructions:

Before beginning the drill you should familiarize yourself with the graphs of the following "Basic Functions":
x,     x^2,     x^3,     1/x,     1/x^2,    
sqrt(x),     abs(x)

Basic Functions

In the drill you will be shown the graph of a function f(x) which is one of the basic functions which has been shifted left or right and up or down by integer amounts.

You may click in the plot to find the coordinates of a point.

You are to enter the formula for the function f(x) in the answer box using Maple syntax and click on the Check Your Answer button.

If you are correct, you will be congratulated.

If you are incorrect, you will be shown a plot with the original function
f(x) shown in
BLUE and your
Answer shown in
RED.
Correct your answer and Check Your Answer again.

If you have trouble, you may scroll to the bottom and click on Show the Answer.

On the Setup page you can set the size of the plot.
