Maple Syntax

To enter an answer using Maple Syntax you must:

  1. Enter multiplication using a * and division using a /.
  2. Enter exponents (powers) using a ^.
  3. Remember that exponents ^ are computed before multiplication * and division / which are computed before addition + and subtraction -.
  4. Use parenthesis ( ) to modify the order of operation, not square brackets [ ] or braces { }.
  5. Use parenthesis ( ) to enclose the arguments of functions.
  6. Use square brackets [ ] to indicate ordered lists such as points or vectors.
  7. Use braces { } to indicate unordered lists such as sets.
