Title: Research at Georgetown Rail Equipment (GREX)

Abstract: Georgetown Rail Equipment (GREX) is a private central Texas company that develops technology solutions for railroads worldwide. The GREX Emerging Technologies Team has research initiatives covering X-Ray backscatter technology, Spatial Phase Imaging, AI / Machine learning, Machine Vision, Big Data Analysis, and Automation. Members of the team are involved in all aspects of the R&D process including IP generation, patenting, proof-of-concept innovation, rapid prototyping, testing, development, customer interfacing, publications, and conference attendance / presentations. Jeb Belcher, Manager of the Emerging Technologies Team and A&M Math graduate, will be presenting on the active projects outlined above. Additionally, he will be taking a deeper dive into how GREX is adopting AI as a Quality Assurance tool to standardize x-ray performance across a production fleet.
